Food Trucks Are Back Today And So Is The Food Truckr’s New Product “The Food Truck Growth Kit”!

Being from New York actually Long Island street food/food vendors/food trucks were normal sightings.

Even today there are still food trucks selling freshly brewed coffee, delicious breakfast choices from muffins to bagels and egg sandwiches at railroad and bus stations, constantly giving the Egg McMuffin a run for it’s money!

Between all the food vendors on the streets of Manhattan and the under- developed roadways back in the late 60’s and early 70’s leading out to the South and North Shores of the Island, I never thought twice about seeing signs “3 Hot Dogs” for a $1.00! “Hot Pretzels and Knishes”

My first food truck experience was in front of Mays a discount department store in Massapequa on Long Island.

My Mom and I would take a bus a few towns away from where we lived, to go shopping and she would always buy us lunch from this  man selling knishes, hot dogs, sausage and peppers and pretzels in a stationary RV out in front of the entrance.

I can still taste and see my favorite menu item a knish topped with a heap of yellow mustard on that slightly crunchy outer coating of dough stuffed with a seasoned pocket of  mashed potatoes.

His food truck was on cement blocks he had a great location and captive audience, he was set and his fast food business was there for many years.

Food trucks are generally described as a fast food business.

Street food was widely utilized by poor urban residents of ancient Rome whose tenement homes did not have ovens or hearths.

French fries probably originated as a street food consisting of fried strips of potato in Paris in the 1840’s.
