On The Table-

Presents the dynamic duo of Eric Lipert and Anthony Bourdain. 

These two chefs couldn’t be anymore different! But I found them to be very enjoyable as they both let their guard down and just shared a kitchen and conversation…No live audience, no judging meals or up and coming chefs, just a cameraman and the Duo…

I was excited to see Octopus (one of the Inker’s of the sea) as the main ingredient in the Seafood Recipe being prepared.

Brought back some memories for me when my Mom would bring home a variety of fish (Octopus being one of many-squid/Calamari, cod/baccala, and scungilli/conch etc.) for our Italian”Christmas Eve” Family Feast.

She would unwrap them (I was part of the fish cleaning crew) and cook them one at a time, since they had their own recipe no seafood stew here more of a buffet from the sea! 

Each one having their own distinct flavor, sauce, texture and color. The house would take on and unforgettable aroma (unlike Thanksgiving) a reminder that Santa was on his way, and Christmas Day and Lasagna would follow!

Watch as these two get together to cook a manly Portuguese Seafood Stew and talk about life, cooking, sex, drugs and rock and roll. Oh, and of course they enjoy an array of drinks from beer to red wine to Anthony’s favorite, bourbon.
